Cherry Pie Baking

Wednesday, February 212:00—5:00 PMCommunity RoomCanton Public Library786 Washington St., Canton, MA, 02021

Celebrate Black History Month with us by joining us for a pie baking in commemoration to the Greensboro Four; Ezell Blair, Jr., Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond. The four sat down at a "whites only" counter at a diner in Greensboro, South Carolina where they ordered slices of cherry pie but were refused service. Over the next few days they returned with more and more supporters sparking nation wide peaceful protests called sit-ins that helped end racial segregation.

In honor of these brave men, we will be making cherry pies! All materials needed will be provided and registration is required. This program is for kids between the ages of 5 and 12, however, kids under the age of 10 must be accompanied and assisted by their grown-up in order to participate.

Any allergy concerns, please email shazelton@ocln.org we will make substitutions in order for all to participate safely!

Registration for this event has now closed.
